“Notorious” versus “Cowboy” will be the main fight to bet on at UFC 246, but there are also other interesting fights to check into.

UFC 246 will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.

Main Event Matchup

“Notorious” Conor McGregor is returning to the UFC for the first time since his last fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018. That fight led to a submission loss for McGregor.

He has not fought in what seems like forever and has had some legal issues along the way. He is the story of UFC 246 betting.

He is currently the third-best fighter in the lightweight division with a record of 21-4-0. He has 18 wins by knockout. He has 41 percent striking accuracy and 63 percent grappling accuracy. His reach extends to 74 inches, and he stands at 5-9.

“Cowboy” Donald Cerrone is also coming off a loss heading into this fight. Back in September of this year, he lost in the first round to Justin Gaethje. Cerrone is a long-time fan and market favorite and will most likely be cheered for in the matchup.

He is currently the No. 5 fighter in the lightweight division, with a record of 36-12-0. He has 10 wins by knockout and 17 by submission. He has 47 percent striking accuracy and 36 percent grappling accuracy. He has a reach of 73 inches and stands 6-1.

With McGregor having all of that time away from the UFC, he should be fully rested and ready to go for this one. This should be a fun match to watch anyway since both fighters have been positive towards each other and shown respect.

Lightweight Bout Event Odds: Anthony Pettis vs. Diego Ferreira

The odds for UFC 246 betting between Anthony Pettis vs Diego Ferreira are currently:

Lightweight Bout Matchup

Anthony Pettis is coming off a recent loss to Nate Diaz by decision in late August this year. He is No. 10 in the welterweight division with a record of 22-8-0.

He has 11 wins by knockout and seven by submission. He has 46 percent striking accuracy and 55 percent grappling accuracy. He stands at 5-10 and can reach out to 72 inches.

Diego Ferreira is coming into this fight off a victory in September against Maribek Taisumov, and the fight tips in his favor. His record is currently 15-2-0.

He has six wins by submission and six by decision. He has striking accuracy of 37 percent and 23 percent grappling accuracy. He can reach all the way to 74 inches, and his height is 5-9.

The question for this one is, does Pettis have enough experience to hold off a hungry Ferreira? This could be one of the fights of the night right here with hopefully a lot of standup action.

Women’s Bantamweight Matchup

Holly Holm’s last fight came at a loss to Amanda Nunes back in July. She is currently the No. 3 fighter in the bantamweight division with a record of 12-4-0.

She has eight of her wins by knockout. She has striking accuracy of 34 percent and grappling accuracy of 32 percent. She stands at 5-8 and has a reach that extends to 69 inches.

Raquel Pennington had a win back in July against Irene Aldana. She is the No. 5 fighter in the bantamweight division with a record of 9-8-0. With her record being a toss-up for wins and losses, she is definitely not a market favorite.

She has five of her wins by submission. She has striking accuracy of 47 percent and 28 percent grappling accuracy. She stands at 5-7 and reaches out to 67 inches.

Holm could possibly deliver a knockout here if Pennington is not careful. Bets for Holm could be the way to go for this one, as she is viewed to be the heavy favorite here.

Women’s Strawweight Bout Event Odds: Claudia Gadelha vs. Alexa Grasso

The betting odds for the fight on Claudia Gadelha and Alexa Grasso are at:

Fighter to winBet on these odds
Gadelha-114
Grasso-102

Women’s Strawweight Matchup

Claudia Gadelha successfully won her last fight against Randa Markos in July. She is currently the No. 6 fighter in the strawweight division with a record of 16-4-0.

She has seven wins by submission and seven by decision. She has striking accuracy of 42 percent and grappling accuracy of 47 percent. She stands at 5-4 and has a reach of 63 inches.

Alexa Grasso is returning from a loss to Carla Esparza in September. Her current rank in the UFC is No. 11 with a record of 11-2-0.

She has four wins by knockout. She also has striking accuracy of 42 percent and grappling accuracy of 50 percent. She stands at around 5-5 while having a reach of about 66 inches.

This matchup should be an interesting one that could go either way. Grasso has something to prove and could surprise the people that doubted her. I look for Grasso to really be aggressive here to work her way up to the top of the rankings. But will she have enough to knock off Gadelha?

Featherweight Bout Event Odds: Andre Fili vs. Sodiq Yusuff

The odds for UFC 246 betting on the match between Andre Fili and Sodiq Yusuff are currently at:

Fighter to winBet on these odds
Fili+116
Yusuff-140

* odds are subject to change

Featherweight Bout Matchup

Andre Fili is coming off an excellent win over Sherman Moraes in July. His record is currently 19-6-0.

He has eight wins by knockout and eight by submission. He has striking accuracy of 38 percent and grappling accuracy of 46 percent. He has a reach of 73.5 inches and stands at 5-9.

Sodiq Yusuff plans to continue his win streak after a victory over Gabriel Benitez back in August. With a 10-1-0 record so far, he is off to a good start.

He has five wins by knockout and four wins by decision. He also has striking accuracy of 50 percent. He has a reach of 71 inches and stands at 5-8.

Yusuff has what it takes to really be dominant here. He really knows how to use his strength to knock out opponents. He does not have much of a wrestling background as much as Fili does.

This fight will be just as good as any on the night, but I do not expect this to be a cakewalk for Yusuff. Fili is just as dangerous as Yusuff, but with more fighting experience in the octagon.

Potential Winning Picks

  • Conor McGregor – win by knockout/TKO
  • Anthony Pettis – win by decision
  • Holly Holm – win by knockout/TKO
  • Claudia Gadelha – win by decision
  • Andre Fili – win by submission

Each fight will have some back-and-forth action and will make coming up with predictions a little harder to determine for each fight. Sometimes you just have to flip a coin and go for the best, and other times you can see clear favorites.

For UFC 246 betting, we have some coin flips, but I believe the above fighters will still be able to claim victories on the night.
